St. Regis Hotels & Resorts continues its plans to grow globally with the debut of 10 new hotels and resorts in the next 12 months in destinations including Bangkok, Florence, Tianjin, Doha and Abu Dhabi this year. St. Regis’ expanded footprint will span Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East and feature new construction as well as a restoration of the Grand Hotel in Florence, which will open as The St. Regis Florence in September.
The St. Regis Bangkok and The Residences at The St. Regis Bangkok opened this month with 176 guestrooms, 51 suites and 53 private residences. The St. Regis Florence will open in September with 81 guest rooms, in addition to 19 suites. The 284-room St. Regis Tianjin will open this fall, as will the St. Regis Sanya Yalong Bay Resort, which will offer 33 rooms, 40 suites and 28 beachside villas in the China resort destination of Hainan Island. The 289-room St. Regis Shenzhen will also open this fall.
Overlooking the Persian Gulf, the St. Regis Doha is slated to open in the fall/winter 2011 and is designed as two 14-story beachfront reflecting towers containing 336 rooms. The hotel is part of an urban development, which will include luxury hotel and residential apartments. To be unveiled in the fall/winter of 2011, the St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort and The Residences at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi will feature 380 rooms and suites and 292 private residences. The St. Regis Abu Dhabi, to debut next spring, will be located on the Corniche in downtown Abu Dhabi as part of Nation Towers, a two-tower mixed-use development. Located at the top of one tower beginning at the 33rd floor, the hotel will feature 281 rooms, including 56 suites, signature restaurants, a destination bar, sky bridge suite, more than 50,000 square feet of ultra-modern meeting and event space and a 32,000-square-foot health club facility including an outdoor swimming pool.
The St. Regis Mauritius, located on a remote island off the coast of Madagascar and set to open in the spring of 2012, will offer 173 rooms. The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort and The Residences at The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort will also open in the spring of 2012, with 251 rooms, 37 condo-hotel suites and 269 private residences in three all-glass towers, which rise 27 stories.
