On the Go Travel: Austria // Life Ball 2013 Grab Life by the Ball // www.SteeleTravel.com/lifeball

May 2, 2013

When it comes to parties, this one is hard to beat.  As Steele Luxury Travel is the Exclusive Tour Operator in North America to provide access to the Life Ball, we have your ticket and a fantastic trip surround this extravagant event!
It is the largest HIV charity event in Europe, drawing in power-players Katy Perry, Bill Clinton and Kylie Minogue: the Life Ball of Vienna. If there is a place to see and be seen, you can’t do better.
In reality a REALLY decked-out fundraiser for HIV/AIDS research, Vienna’s Life Ball is the glittery brainchild of the non-profit organization AIDS LIFE, which was founded in 1993 by Gery Keszler and Torgom Petrosian, and taps that very Austrian tradition of the grand ball. A direct descendant of those sparklingly vast galas attended by kings and emperors, the 21st Life Ball replaces imperial splendor with equally fantastical themes; this year, “Saving Lives with Imagination” will see Scheherazade and the 1001 Arabian Nights whirl through the city, and pairs the fight against AIDS with the legendary queen’s quick-thinking that hundreds of lives with her tales.
Even as the historic Viennese city hall and square are transformed into an opulent Arabesque paradise of dervishes and hours, guests will be dazzled by the iridescent Opening Ceremony, a glittering blitz comprised of live concerts, international stars, over-the-top performances, and culinary surprises at every turn. The Ball culminates in a no-such-thing-as-overkill fashion show; this year, Robert Cavalli, one of the most impassioned fighters against HIV/AIDS, returns to the Life Ball’s Red Ribbon Catwalk in full-blown extravagance.
“Roberto Cavalli is unique in the opulence of his fashion – combined with his long lasting dedication in the field of HIV/AIDS he meets the spirit of Life Ball like no other. We are glad to invite Roberto Cavalli as the first fashion house to return to Life Ball and launch a great charity activity,” says Gery Keszler.
Cavalli first flaunted his wares at Life Ball 2001, and this year makes it a double-header by making time at the AIDS Solidarity Gala pre-party at the Hofburg Imperial Palace. At the exclusive Gala, a one-of-a-kind Life Ball MINI by Cavalli will be auctioned for the cause. On top of that, the designer will create a spectacular haute couture t-shirt, also to be auctioned at the Gala. (For those without limitless credit limits, a limited edition version will be available at the Roberto Cavalli store a week before the Ball.) The designer will even create a lavish table setting with his label Roberto Cavalli Home.
“We are deeply honored to be the only brand to be invited for the second time at Life Ball, one of the most important events in the world contributing to the fight against AIDS,” said Cavalli, who is in fact the only fashion house to make a return. “We have been able to read about the recent developments in medical research which all give us the hope of a possible future without AIDS and we are extremely enthusiastic. We want to convey emotions and amaze with our gowns and present Life Ball with the Cavalli glamour and creativity in an effort to support this important humanitarian cause.”
