On the Go “Apogee” Indeed // L’Apogee Courchevel – A New Ski Resort!

December 16, 2013

Sigh. Get over it. Summer’s way done 😉
Of course, in Miami, that is something of a subjective statement, but you get the idea. But even as Florida welcomes refugees from colder climes, some of those climes are just getting started: Europe’s skiing season has officially commenced!
You have not seen “cut-throat” until you have seen the competition between hoity-toity ski resorts. Each proclaims—loudly, I might add—that they are the best, the most luxurious, the most likely place to find a roaringly drunk royal. With so many people saying they have the most stars in their rating and are the top of the heap, it can seem like no one really is.
So when I come across a place that seems to be as good as it says it is, it’s worth noting. Opening in December is L’Apogee Courchevel, and the location could not be more exclusive: the Tarentaise Valley in France’s Rhône-Alpes region. The hotel, located at the foot of the ski slopes, offers private access to the largest ski area in the world, known as “The Three Valleys”, and will function as a “ski-in ski-out” resort.
Offering breathtaking views of the idyllic valley of Courchevel, which hosted Olympic skiing in 1992, the L’Apogee is nestled in the heart of the already exclusive “Jardin Alpin in Courchevel 1850,” the highest and most exclusive level of the ski resort zone. The hotel is comprised of 33 suites, 20 double rooms and a spectacular penthouse inclusive of its own, private Jacuzzi and private terrace. Next door will be a private, exclusive chalet with five bedrooms, a spa and its own home cinema. The resort will also offer a signature restaurant and on-site caviar bar, a state-of-the-art wellness center and a kids club (in this day and age, some of us really do have kids).
Now, if all that fails to stir the blood, here is the real draw of Courchevel: Remember those roaringly drunk royals? Well, if that is your cup of tea, the French Alps are hard to beat. Long the playground of the who’s-who, it is here that you could literally find yourself on a ski lift with a prince or duke or some other romance-novel worthy plot twist. And it’s not just real royals; Hollywood blue-bloods are also packed chock-a-block.
So keep that camera handy. TMZ pays a fortune for the tipsy pics.
Avelers looking to ski in style this year will love the brand new L’Apogee Courchevel, a five-star ski resort located in the French Alps, www.lapogeecourchevel.com. This hotel opening marks the Collection’s first ski resort – turning the Collection into one that remains relevant for all four seasons.
Offering breathtaking views of Courchevel village, the hotel is nestled in the heart of the exclusive Jardin Alpin in Courchevel 1850, the highest and most exclusive level of the ski resort. The hotel, located at the foot of the ski slopes, offers private access to the largest ski area in the world, known as “The Three Valleys”, and will function as a “ski-in ski-out” resort.
