New Airline Launching in China

February 17, 2015

GX Airlines launched Monday in China, yet another expansion of the NNA Group as it looks to blanket the vast country with its airline service, breakingtravelnews.com reported.

HNA Group is the parent company of Hainan Airlines, Hong Kong Airlines Tianjin Airlines, Lucky Air, Urumqi Airlines and Fuzhou Airlines.

Several of the carriers are route-specific; GX, for instance, will serve Guangxi, an autonomous province in the southwest part of China that borders Yunnan Province and the country of Vietnam to its west, Guangdong Province to its east and northeast, and Hunan and Guizhou to the north.

A portion of Guangxi features coastline along the South China Sea, making it a popular tourist draw as well.

GX’s first flight took off from Nanning, the capital of Guangxi, and landed in Haikou, the capital of Hainan Province.

According to breakingtravelnews.com, following the launch of the Nanning-Haikou route, GX Airlines will roll out more domestic passenger services within China before starting routes to Hong Kong, Macau – a gambler’s paradise – and Taiwan, among other routes.
