Montage Hotels & Resorts, long known for its portfolio of luxury lifestyle properties within the U.S., is expanding its reach internationally, with the news of plans to open a resort in Los Cabos at the tail end of 2017.
Set on Santa Maria Bay in a new residential community between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, Montage Los Cabos will debut with 122 rooms and suites and 52 Montage Residences amid 39 acres.
“Montage Los Cabos on Santa Maria Bay is the absolute best location for a resort in all of Los Cabos,” said Alan Fuerstman, founder and CEO of Montage Hotels & Resorts. “Its stunning natural setting, gentle swimmable beach on the Sea of Cortez, and its proximity to all that Cabo has to offer, sets the stage for an extraordinary Montage resort.”
In keeping with its mission to evoke a sense of place at its properties, Montage said the oceanfront Los Cabos resort will pay homage to the destination’s indoor-outdoor living style. Using local materials, it will be appointed in hues reflective of its Baja desert landscape.
Guests will find all of Montage’s signature features and amenities at the Los Cabos property as well, including Spa Montage, which will offer a considerable selection of wellness programs and treatments; and Paintbox, its interactive children’s program. An Activities Pavilion will offer guests options for tennis, barefoot pitch-and-putt, and basketball.
The resort, which will also be equipped with two pools, will provide guests walk-in access to diving and snorkeling activities thanks to its location on Santa Maria Bay.
The resort will feature an array of culinary options that focus on local seafood and ingredients in multiple dining venues.
Lastly, Montage Los Cabos will also be equipped with 6,100 feet of indoor-outdoor meetings and event space, in addition to beachside lawns that can be used for functions.
Montage’s current hotel collection includes Montage Laguna Beach, Montage Beverly Hills, Montage Deer Valley, Montage Kapalua Bay and The Inn at Palmetto Bluff, a Montage Resort.
Last year, the company introduced Pendry Hotels, a design-driven boutique brand whose first property will debut in San Diego in late 2016. Montage also operates golf courses, including Spanish Peaks Mountain Club in Big Sky, Montana and The May River Golf Club in Bluffton, South Carolina.
