May 1, 2012

You can now book tickets on Lufthansa’s first Boeing 747-8, which will start flying between Frankfurt and Washington, D.C. on June 1. Four more of the new jumbo jets will be delivered to Lufthansa fleet. By late summer, 747-8 flights will be offered to Chicago, Los Angeles, Delhi and Bangalore.
Lufthansa has revamped its business class on these panes, which will have new business class seats that recline into a lie-flat bed and also have additional storage space and an enhanced in-flight entertainment system. The 747-8 Intercontinental will bring double-digit improvements in fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions per passenger over its predecessor, the 747-400.
