Lufthansa reports that it has upgraded in-flight service on long- and short-haul flights. Since May 1, cabin staff have been offering First and Business-Class passengers with new service concepts, including creative menus served on quality tableware and other sophisticated details. A few months ago, Lufthansa First Class received top marks in the Skytrax Star Ranking. On flights from Germany, Lufthansa has introduced “Culinary Delights.” Taking the carrier’s Star Chefs concept to a higher level, this new concept features menus created by chefs who’ve earned at least two Michelin stars or a comparable distinction. These menus will also change on a bi-monthly schedule.
In addition, First Class passengers can now receive an exclusive caviar service as a separate course on day and evening flights. As appetizers, flights attendants will be serving a variety of canapés instead of a single option. In addition, the in-flight menus will be served on newly designed, high-end tableware, and include elements such as individual salt and pepper shakers for each passenger and a small bowl of olive oil and elegant glass carafes for fresh water.
The gastronomic concept in Lufthansa’s Business Class has also been upgraded to feature more freshness and variety in the menu, plus a wider choice of juices as well as ’Weißbier’ (wheat beer) and ’Altbier’ (dark beer). The Business Class dining experience also features new china and cutlery.
An enhanced Business Class experience will also be found on flights within Germany and Europe. Should a flight last longer than 76 minutes, a snack will be served to round off the meal, such as sweet treats, fresh fruit or ice cream. Included in the in-flight upgrades are an improved range of hygiene and personal care products.
