For air travelers looking to head across the United States in style, JetBlue has it covered.
Mint, the premium travel offering from JetBlue, is adding four new cross-country flights — the first of which is Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Los Angeles (LAX). It will be the first domestic flight from South Florida with fully reclining, lie-flat seats.
The Mint planes also feature fully enclosed private suites and a 15-inch flat screen with complimentary entertainment options.
Service by Mint includes signature cocktails, a tapas-style food menu, fresh espresso from the first purpose-built cappuccino machine for a U.S. airline, amenity kits by Birchbox, and premium desserts.
This is business class, evolved.
It’s also a much cheaper option to the traditional premium air travel model. With one-way flights starting at $399 (again, for a cross country flight), this is a legitimate step-up from traditional pricing options rather than having travelers be stuck between having an uncomfortable flight or paying an incredible upcharge for relaxation.
Future expansion as currently planned involves flights into Las Vegas, Seattle, San Francisco, New York (JFK) and Boston. The hope is that JetBlue will eventually offer up to 70 or more daily Mint flights to 12 destinations between the East Coast, West Coast and Caribbean.
