I read the article “Nothing Will Be The Same: How Italian Hoteliers are coping with CoronaVirus Fallout” written by Mitra Sorellis, published by PhocusWire. The article explicitly informs the reader of the hotel industry during the 2020 Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak.
Sorellis interviews hotelier, Giancarlo Carniani, who manages a group of boutique hotels in Florence, Italy under the small business ToFlorence Hotels. The story talk about how Booking.com refunded all of their guests for hotel stays at Italian Hotels and how the entire Italian hotel industry is enraged.
As the owner of Steele Luxury Travel, a Virtuoso Network Luxury Travel Agency based in New York City, I am humbled by Carniani’s effort in collaborating with thousands of Italian hoteliers to change the hotel distribution channel and system.
Please read Sorrellis’ article HERE then please review my Video response below. I agree, it is time to re-invent the hotel industry’s distribution channels and start from the beginning. I would love to be involved in this effort.
