When it comes to travel, flight attendants know a thing or two and, in a pinch, they are the perfect people to ask about getting a good night’s sleep in a hotel, which is just what the Huffington Post’s Abigail Williams did.

“Flight attendants are the travel gurus of the flight world. They know how to get the best seat on an airplane, how to get the best in-flight service and what to do to cure jet-lag. But a flight attendant’s expertise doesn’t begin and end with the aircraft. They also have some brilliant travel hacks to help you make the most of your trip,” says Williams.

Business Insider picked up several hacks that from talking to flight attendants, who log an extraordinary amount of air miles and, subsequently, hotel stays — but one hack stuck out to Williams for its brilliance.

Use the clips on pant hangers to clip the curtains closed, she advises.

“That’s right. You could have been sleeping soundly in a pitch black hotel room this whole time. Instead, you’ve been dealing with that irritating sliver of morning light slipping through the cracks of your curtains,” Williams writes.

And, if you are worried that there won’t be any in the closet, pack some office binder clips in your bag, just in case, she suggests.

So there you have it. The best flight attendant hack for sleeping in a hotel.  Read on for more travel hacks here.
