Fiji Airways Fully Emerges as New Brand of Former Air Pacific // www.SteeleTravelBlog.com

July 11, 2013

Fiji Airways unveiled its new brand at a Los Angeles International Airport launch and officially retired its old name Air Pacific. “Now the Fijian experience starts the moment you enter the plane,” said Aubrey Swift, Fiji Airways Acting CEO. “From the traditional Fijian Masi artwork that adorns the tail of the aircraft, to the rich interior, to its own staff, to the name, this airline proudly represents all that the Fijian culture and our beautiful islands stand for.”

Direct flights from Los Angeles to Fiji will nearly double by the end of the year with the carrier’s newly delivered A330s. Currently, Fiji Airways offers direct flights to Fiji six times a week, but in December, there will be seven flights per week and, during peak travel season, eight flights a week departing from Los Angeles International Airport. Fiji Airways has introduced new (A330) and refreshed (B737) interiors. Cabin service features new meal options, new crockery and linens.

In business class seats will feature eight degree in-flight sleep bed and 76 inches of bed length at 60 inches of pitch, along with Panasonic’s 15.4-inch LCD displays, a handset that includes a credit card reader and keyboard, as well as noise cancelling audio jack and a USB interface. The airline is running a fare sale through Aug. 31 with roundtrip book Los Angeles to Fiji starting at $999.

The airline’s new website www.fijiairways.com features an improved reservations platform.
