As a result of a drunken incident that involved a fight with a flight attendant and the assault of a police officer, a female passenger on a Virgin Atlantic plane was banned for life by the airline.
According to FoxNews.com, British passenger Lauren Johnson was flying with her husband and child from Dubai to London on June 17 when she began drinking. A short time later, Johnson reportedly became verbally aggressive with one of the flight attendants.

In court, the prosecution claimed Johnson was also heard banging on the cockpit door in an effort to get the captain to wave to her child. When asked to sit down as the plane made its way toward Heathrow Airport, Johnson verbally attacked the attendant and threatened to punch her in the face.

When the plane landed in London, police were called to the gate and escorted Johnson off the flight. Not only did she give the arresting officers a hard time by resisting, she also allegedly struck a policewoman on the chin.

The incident was Johnson’s first offense, but it has earned her a lifetime ban from Virgin Atlantic. In court she pled guilty for her crimes, and received a jail sentence of four months, was fined over $5,870 and ordered to pay additional compensation to the injured officer and other parties.
Judge Robin Johnson also warned the woman to stay clear of alcohol on her next trip.
