Continental Airlines canceled 24 flights on Wednesday, most of them out of Newark, N.J., because of a lack of crew, according to an spokeswoman for the airline. The pilots’ union at Continental Airlines had no comments and no further details were available. According to some media reports, the lack of crew members was the result of pilots calling in sick. The airline was working on getting customers on other flights.
