Boeing this morning announced the latest delay for its Dreamliner 787, saying the first delivery of the jet to a commercial airline will now not happen “until at least July,” The Associated Press reports.

AP adds “the jet has been delayed several times already. Its most recent delivery target was for next month. But an electrical fire on a test plane in November put a halt to flight testing. Another delay has been widely expected ever since the fire. Boeing said Tuesday that it expects to deliver the plane during the third quarter, which would be between July and the end of September. It says it has built extra time into the schedule in case anything else goes wrong.”
Boeing still must get the Federal Aviation Administration to certify the 787 before it can deliver the jet to launch customer ANA. Boeing resumed flight testing on the jet yesterday, according to AP.
