I would like to personally invite you to one of the most exciting events of 2010: The Inspiration Gala / / Los Angeles benefitting amfAR on October 27, 2010. amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, is one of the world’s leading nonprofit organizations dedicated to the support of AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education, and the advocacy of sound AIDS-related public policy. Since 1985, amfAR has invested more than $307 million in its programs and has awarded grants to more than 2,000 research teams worldwide.
Inspiration, a new amfAR event series produced by Josh Wood Productions, is a celebration of men’s style benefiting the Foundation’s innovative AIDS research programs. Beginning in 2010 in New York, Paris, and Los Angeles, the Inspiration series will grow to include events in multiple cities and will feature a different design “Inspiration” each year. The design inspiration and theme for 2010 is “Black Tie // Black Leather.” All designs were shown in a runway show at the New York event, and select pieces are auctioned in each of the three Inspiration cities. Participating designers include Band of Outsiders, Neil Barrett, John Bartlett, Michael Bastian, Bess, Bottega Veneta, Thom Browne, Calvin Klein Collection, Richard Chai, Kenneth Cole, Dolce & Gabbana, DSquared2, Tom Ford, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Robert Geller, Tim Hamilton, Hugo Boss, Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, Ralph Lauren, Rick Owens, Prada, Trussardi, Viktor & Rolf, Y-3 and Yves Saint Laurent.
