Air France-KLM Considers Launching Low-Cost Domestic Carrier

September 7, 2010

Air France-KLM is considering starting a low-cost domestic carrier in order to compete with low-cost rivals, according to press reports. The company would not comment, but the French news agency AF reported that the airline is considering setting up a new entity within the airline that could compete with low-cost carriers that are eating into the airline’s market share. Air France-KLM already operates a low-cost carrier, Transavia, offering a number of pan-European services. The new airline could go into service next year, operating out of Marseille, Nice and Toulouse. For more information, visit www.airfrance.com.
