Starwood Hotels & Resorts has broken ground on Solaz, its first Luxury Collection property in Los Cabos and its seventh in Mexico. The resort, which will feature 131 guestrooms and suites, is scheduled to open its doors in June 2017.
“This marks a milestone year for The Luxury Collection, as the brand continues to grow globally, debut marquee conversion hotels and invest in landmark renovations,” said Hoyt H. Harper II, global brand leader, The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts. “As we break ground on Solaz, we look forward to introducing a new level of luxury to the extraordinary beaches of Los Cabos.”
Set on 33 oceanfront acres in five six-floor buildings, the resort will be equipped with an elaborate spa and fitness center, spacious pool and beach deck, and private beach club. It will also include residences and vacation ownership units.
Starwood said the property will incorporate design elements that accentuate the landscape. Solaz will also heavily showcase contemporary Mexican art.
Rooms and suites will boast outdoor terraces, a generous number of which will feature Jacuzzis. The two-bedroom Presidential suite will have its own private pool.
The property will also house three restaurants, including one serving three meals a day. It will also feature considerable meetings space, three tennis courts, and walking and running paths that extend for miles.
