It’s been well documented that Presidential candidate Donald Trump prefers his hotel and resort properties to the competition. However over the weekend Trump conceded, giving a positive review of his stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Sioux Center, Iowa.
“Good mattress, staff was great, good mattress, good everything,” he told the New York Times on Saturday.
“It’s different and it’s certainly not Mar-a-Lago. But it’s very nice,” added Trump, referring to his private luxury club in Palm Beach, Florida.
“I actually enjoyed it. It was good, it was clean.”
While Trump’s endorsement was the only to make headlines, it’s worth noting that he isn’t alone in his appreciation for the the InterContinental Hotel Group’s mid-priced chain. After all, the Sioux Center Holiday Inn Express & Suites boasts a “wonderful” 4.5-star rating on Expedia.com.
Amenities at the hotel include a business center, an indoor pool, hot tub and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Trump followed up his stay at the Sioux Center Holiday Inn Express Friday night with a visit to the Royal Amsterdam Hotel in Pella, Iowa. Trump’s campaign revealed that the billionaire businessman sampled the steak and potatoes at the European-style hotel’s restaurant. But no word on the quality of the mattresses.
Trump was in Iowa over the weekend to address voters and work to secure votes ahead of Feb. 1 caucuses.
