Korean Air Unveils Details of New A380 Service from JFK

August 4, 2011
Some of the new features on Korean Air’s A380 flights from JFK starting next Tuesday include a shopping experience in the A380’s duty free showcase where products from the airline’s in-seat catalogue are on display. Shoppers can see and touch the actual goods, then return to their seats to make their purchases in privacy.

The upstairs Celestial Bar that the airline partnered on with Absolut features couch seating, a large-screen TV, reading materials and a fully stocked, hosted bar. There’s also a full bar in first class and another bar lounge at the front of Prestige Class. “There are several areas where passengers can socialize,” said Korean Air’s Vice President of Marketing John Jackson. “Or they can opt for privacy within their own space. One thing’s for sure, flying is about to become a lot more fun.”
Meanwhile, Korean Air has partnered with DAVI, the skincare branch of the Mondavi wine family, for its in-flight amenity kit featuring DAVI’s cosmetic products. The cosmetics are made of grape and wine extracts from California’s Napa Valley, plus a variety of natural extracts. When combined, they offer an anti-aging effect.
