Lufthansa announced a further expansion of its North American service. It will fly Montreal to Frankfurt between May 16 and Oct. 12, 2014, giving the carrier 19 direct services between Germany and North America. Earlier in the week, the carrier announced increased service between Munich and Mexico City as well as Munich and Toronto. The non-stop seasonal service from Montreal will operate five times a week on Tuesday through Friday as well as on Sunday, using Airbus A340-300 and A330-300 aircraft. Lufthansa already operates daily non-stops between Munich and Montreal, with partner airline SWISS offering daily services from Zurich. The new route will also complement the service offered by Star Alliance partner Air Canada, which operates daily flights between Frankfurt and Montreal.
