ITINERARY
27 Dec 2009: Arrival to Johannesburg
 
You will be met at Johannesburg Airport on arrival and transferred to The Melrose Arch, an exclusive offering in the secure Melrose Arch precinct. You will be taken on a Half Day Tour of Soweto, where you can see Nelson Mandela's former house, and the Apartheid Museum is also well worth a visit. Return to your hotel and make your way to Moyo Restaurant for your Welcome Gala Dinner.
 
28 Dec 2009: Johannesburg to Cape Town
 
You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Cape Town and then transferred to the Cape Grace Hotel in the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. This is one of Cape Town's finest hotels and our firm favourite with an array of international awards. Sepnd the rest of the day exploring South Africa's most charming city.
 
29 Dec 2009: Cape Peninsula Tour
 
You will be collected from your hotel for your full day tour of the Cape Peninsula. Pass through the stunning Clifton and Camps Bay areas and head towards Hout Bay and an optional trip to Seal Island. The Chapman’s Peak Drive is a spectacular scenic route that winds its way along the coast with fynbos-covered mountains on one side and the azure Atlantic on the other. Visit the beautiful Cape Point Nature Reserve and the dramatic Cape of Good Hope. The homeward-bound side of the peninsula goes via Boulders Beach and its fascinating penguin colony. Explore the historic naval village of Simon's Town and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant; your route then winds through the gracious Constantia Valley and makes a final call at the world-renowned Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
 
30 Dec 2009: Mountain and Township Tour
 
No rest for the wicked. You will be guided on a half day tour of Cape Town City & Table Mountain, the perfect trip to orientate you to the city. The tour commences with a cable car ride up Table Mountain (weather permitting). In the city itself, we visit the Company Gardens, the S.A. Museum, the Castle of Good Hope and the vibrant and arty flea market, Greenmarket Square. We take a trip through the picturesque Bo-Kaap. The tour ends at the Waterfront.
 
After lunch, you enjoy a cultural tour of the Cape Peninsula for the rest of the day. Visit District Six and the Guga S’Thebe Arts & Culture Centre in Langa. A traditional healer will reverse your receding hairline and you can try some African beer – think alco-porridge – at a shebeen, which is a traditionally outlawed township drinking house. Visit the Gugulethu Seven Memorial and the Amy Biehl Memorial in Gugulethu and then drive through Nyanga and Crossroads townships towards Khayelitsha – South Africa’s oldest township. At Khayelitsha you will visit a guest house and chat to the locals who will beam with pride at the acknowledgement of their success against all odds.

1 Jan 2010: Cape Town to Winelands
 
With a heavy head, you wil be picked up from your hotel at noon and transferred to the Cape Winelands, the perfect place to relax and recover after your exploits the night before. It's South Africa's equivalent of Bordeaux and Tuscany, but with better wine we believe. You will be staying at L’Ermitage Chateau & Villas in 1-bedroom villas on a Bed & Breakfast basis, set on the slopes of the Franschhoek Pass, admist sweeping tracts of fynbos and vineyards.
 
2 Jan 2010: Cape Winelands Tour
 
The wine tasting begins on this wonderful day tour which winds its way to the heart of the Cape winelands, through superb mountain ranges, vineyards and Cape Dutch homesteads. A brief visit to historic Stellenbosch (Dorp Street and Oom Samie se Winkel). Wine cellar tour and tasting – choice between KWV (Paarl) or The Bergkelder (Stellenbosch). In Franschhoek, we visit the Boschendal manor house. Enjoy lunch in Franschhoek, the gastronomic capital of South Africa and go winetasting at a Franschhoek wine estate as well as cheese tasting in Paarl.
 
3 Jan 2010: Winelands to Cape Town to Kruger
 
You will be transferred back to Cape Town Airport for your flight to Nelspruit. You will be picked up and transferred to Singita in the Sabi Sands Reserve. The area has high concentrations of wildlife and the ability to do off road driving, night drives and walking safaris will afford your ranger the opportunity to get very close to animals for perfect photography. The general public will not be allowed into the reserve and so you will not be competing for sightings. There will also not be more than 2 vehicles at any particular sighting.
 
You will stay at Singita Boulders Lodge for 2 nights in a Suite on a fully inclusive basis, including all meals, snacks,  drinks including alcoholic beverages but excluding premium imported brands, twice daily game drives lasting approximately 2 1/2 to 3 hours each with a professional ranger and tracker on an open 4x4 are included. There is also an option to do game walks with your ranger (usually after breakfast) if you wish at no extra cost. This is highly recommended!
  
5 Jan 2010: Kruger to Victoria Falls
 
You are transferred to the Skukuza Airport in the Kruger National Park for your Icon flight to Livingstone (Victoria Falls). You will be met at Livingstone Airport and transferred to the five-star Royal Livingstone, located on the banks of the Zambezi River and near the very edge of the falls. The rest of your day can be spent at leisure. You will have free access to the Falls National Park whilst staying at The Royal Livingstone.
      
6 Jan 2010: Victoria Falls Tour
 
After breakfast you will be led on an escorted Tour of the Falls, sharing some fact and history along the way. Clients are also given the opportunity to do some curio shopping in the adjacent open-air markets too. Return to the hotel for lunch and enjoy a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. You will be greeted with a cold cocktail and the sounds of the Marimba Band, a local instrument that laments the sounds of Africa. A full bar on both upper and lower deck serve a selection of cocktails, iced drinks and a variety of snacks.
 
7 Jan 2010: Day of Departure
 
On your final day you will be transferred to Livingstone Island, an Island in the middle of the falls, by boat from the Royal Livingstone Hotel’s jetty. A table will be set up on the small island for a light breakfast and at times of low water, you will also have the opportunity to swim in pools right on the lip of the falls. Qualified river guides accompany guests. You return to the hotel, check out and hop your flight back to Johannesburg, after the African adventure of a lifetime!
