CRUISE
Sardinia and Corsica Cruising Area: Porto Rotondo, Costa Smeralda, Isola Caprera, La Maddalena Archipelago, Bonifacio/ Corsica, Porto Cervo
Suggested Airport: Olbia Possible Routing: Your boat is waiting for your arrival either close to Porto Rotondo, a busy luxury resort, or in the Portisco Bay near by. In the following week we will sail along the shore of Costa Smeralda - the most famous coast in Sardinia is a synonym for emarald water, gorgeous bays, crystal clear water and 'pure luxury'. Each traveler understands why this area is home of the most extraordinary hotels of the island, as the Cala di Volpe, which looks beautiful from the seaside and which already served 007 as scenery for 'The Spy That Loved Me'.
We will cross La Maddalena Archipelago, seven islands and countless islets and crags, remaining signs of the former land bridge to Corsica. Since 1996 the archipelago has been defined as a National Park, not only 60 square kilometres on land, but also 70 square kilometres underwater. On our way to Bonifacio we are sailing through the Straight of Bonifacio between Sardinia and Corsica, often accompanied by dolphins.
The inlet to Bonifacio is stunning; a natural fjord like gorge, chalk cliffs of 60 m height, the plateau on top crowned by the city and the thousand year old citadel. We are returning to Sardinia, passing the Isola Caprera with the Casa Garibaldi, the last domicile of Garibaldi, fighter for the independence of Italy and a kind of Italian national sanctuary.
Via Porto Cervo, the most famous resort of Sardinia, we are moving back to Porto Rotondo. (KAIRÓS is a sailing yacht which sails whenever wind and weather will allow it. Therefore the routing is a suggestion, which will be adjusted to the actual conditions and preferences of the guests if possible.)
